United Protestant Church – Worshiping in the community for over 100 years

Welcome From Pastor Mitch

United Protestant Church is a wonderful group of people that are inviting and let you be yourself.

United Protestant as a UCC church also shares a rich history in inclusion as the church of many firsts. Along these same lines, the theology of the UCC Church is Protestant with an open encouragement for each individual to find their own personal theology and faith. We have Wednesday Faith Formations at 5:30 pm on various topics from mental health to learning about other religions. The idea behind these Faith Formations is to encourage each individual to develop their own set of beliefs based on a personal relationship with Jesus. On the last Wednesday of most months we read and discuss a book along with a potluck meal.

You are welcomed to join us any Sunday for worship at 10:30. There is coffee and fellowship following each service. The church practices an open table where membership is not required to partake in communion with us, on the first Sunday of each month.

Look forward to seeing you some Sunday.

Peace,
Pastor Mitch

Join us each Sunday at 10:30 for a traditional service.  Social distancing and masks worn over mouth and nose are recommended by the CDC and MN Dept of Health.

More About Us

United Protestant Church celebrated its 100th year worshiping in Duluth in 2017 and its building’s 100th anniversary in 2021.  Morgan Park was developed as a model community for the workers at its mill in western Duluth. Our church was build in 1921 and is one of two built by the U.S. Steel Corporation in the Morgan Park neighborhood.  These days, we count among our members individuals from across the Twin Ports region.  A warm and welcoming group, we come from the Congregational side of the UCC and strive to be a vibrant presence in the communities of Western Duluth.

We hope you and your family will have a warm and spirit-filled experience with us as we worship and fellowship together at our services, events, and ministries.

Email us at office@unitedprotestantchurch.org to sign up for our monthly newsletter, full of church events and updates on the church and community!

Annual Events

United Protestant Church is excited to be an active participant in our community.  In addition to weekly services, we host several annual events, which are all open to the public.  Some of these include a Spaghetti Dinner, Rummage and Bake Sale, Christmas Concert, Halloween Carnival, Easter breakfast, Summer Concerts and more.  We try to have events spread all through the year and something for everyone to enjoy.   Some of our favorite memories have their roots in these events, and we hope you’ll find time to enjoy them with us.
